Back Again -- And Ecstatic to See Stephi's Post
My computer is on the fritz again. Amauri is working on it, and we hope to have it back in service shortly. Last Friday was crazy with early dismissal from school -- followed by 4 hours of homebound teaching. I have taken on three homebound students for an additional twelve hours a week, not counting the drive time. (One of them lives out at Huckabay, and all of them are out of town, so the driving takes quite a bit of time itself, but I get mileage pay, so that is okay.
Saturday, I got to homebound instruct for a few more hours and visit with a bunch of friends whom I have not seen for ages. Sunday, I went with Dena down to Holder and stayed with Jerome and Ruth. Those two people are incredible. Lorena and Stephi, they have moved most of David's stuff to his new house in Houston, so it looks so much different. (I will have to start a match-making service on here for David. NEAT 24-year-old aeronautical engineer/pilot with a beaucoup dollar job and his own beautiful house in Cypress, TX, just outside Houston, who plays piano at his church and spends his spare time making huge, musically wind chimes and birchbark canoes, and who based his primary house-buying criteria on how the kitchen was laid out because he loves to cook. Wonder if I would elicit any interest in any young ladies out there? Aunt Ruth, does this about cover it? (*giggle*)
We have had some wonderful phone calls with Stephi and Lorena. They are incredibly good for each other. Stephi says she has lost weight because she has to walk so much, and she laughs about how the school system is set up and how she intimidates so many of the teachers. Her English teacher at school says she represents the U. S. side of the exchange program between the U.S. and Mexico. The U.S. sends one student to Mexico and Mexico sends a million to the U.S. Lorena just laughs as Stephanie and I talk. I am so glad they are together. Again, I hope that Lorena starts spelling messages to Stephi to send to you folks.
The other great news is RAIN. Hurricane John swept up by Puerto Vallarta and Tepic, producing some rain in Tepic -- and then, again, in Stephenville!!!! We actually got over three inches at the end of last week, followed up by about an inch Sunday and Monday. It is great -- and the weather is COOL!!!! This morning it was 65F, and it is supposed to be even cooler in the morning!!! That sure beats an early morning temperature of 85F with an afternoon high in the 100'sF.
I will try to get back on here more regularly, and hopefully El Maestro Martinez will have my computer up and running again shortly. We love you. Lorena's miracle continues!!!
