Lorena has literally not spoken other than a handful of one or two syllable words in over two years now. Spelling is slow and tedious for her. I wonder so much what she would say if she could, and to whom she would say it. If she could walk and use her body, I wonder what she would want to do first, who or what she would want to see. I want so much to hear her describe her ordeal -- in the past tense. Please, God....

I bet she would talk about how God has given her the strength to find joy in life despite the ordeal she is going through. How he helps her to laugh and take pleasure in life. She would talk of the love that she has consistently felt from you and your girls and how your love and encouragement keep her going. I am sure she would talk of pain and longings and depression, but that God and the love of her entire family as given her an inward drive to keep on keeping on.
You can feel God shining through her. She has a faith that glows and resonates across the world. She may not be able to talk and walk right now. But God is taking the situation she is in now, and replacing what she doesn’t have, with an amazing strength and peace and influence. She may not be able to talk, but she is inspiring thousands every day. She may not be able to walk, but she is entering homes all across this world with her inspiring presence. She may not be able to express in words her faith, but she is radiating it and touching as many people as much as Billy Graham ever did in any of his crusades.
Lorena may never be sainted in the Catholic Church, but she is just as much of one as Mother Teresa...she probably will never bless a crowd like the Pope does on Easter morning, but she is a blessing to just as many people. I may never get the chance to meet Lorena, but at some time, in some far away day, I am looking foward to sitting down and having coffee with her in Heaven and letting her know how much she touched my life. I hope she doesnt mind being hugged, cuz I have a feeling she is going to have a line as long as eternity waiting to give her one...
Just saw your site today and I did pray for Lorena.
